Designed for the smallest masonry hearths thanks to its tapered shape, the Destination 1.9 is a compact and easy to install wood insert. Its non-catalytic combustion and its 75% efficiency rate (the highest in its category) make it the perfect choice for those who want to transform their open fireplace into a clean and efficient heat source.

Sizes, clearances, heat output and venting come from the showroom, not a spec table—they depend on your wall, and the wrong number here would cost you a trip.

About the Destination 1.9-I

Questions on This Model

What to Ask about this one

We don't print sizes and output here on purpose—they depend on your wall, and a wrong number costs you a trip. These are the questions that get you a straight answer in about a minute at the counter.

Can I run the Destination 1.9-I on a red air day?

Not always. On a mandatory Red action day, solid-fuel burning is restricted along the Wasatch Front, and only EPA-certified stoves registered as a home's sole heat source may keep burning. If you're considering wood as backup rather than primary heat, that exemption likely won't apply—worth knowing before you install.

Does Utah require anything special to install the Destination 1.9-I?

Any new wood-burning appliance in Utah has to be EPA 2020 certified, and installation needs a permit from your city building division or the county. Your shop pulls it and handles the final inspection as part of the job.

Insert or zero-clearance—which am I buying?

Simple test: an insert slides into a masonry fireplace you already have; a zero-clearance unit gets framed into a wall. This one installs as a Insert unit, so neither rule quite applies—your shop will walk the placement with you.

Will it work when the power goes out?

Wood needs nothing but wood, which is exactly why it still earns its place in canyons and at cabins.

What should I bring to the showroom?

Photos of the wall or firebox, and four measurements if you already have a fireplace: front width, front height, back width, and depth. A masonry firebox tapers, so the back is usually narrower than the front—those four numbers decide which units even fit.
