Privacy Policy

Utah Fireplace Pros is a directory and referral service for a network of independent, family-owned fireplace retailers in Utah. This policy covers utahfireplacepros.com and explains what happens to the information you give us here.

We don't sell or install fireplaces ourselves. When you send an enquiry, it goes to the retailer whose territory covers your address, and your project is between you and that retailer.

What you type. When you use the dealer locator, the product browser, or any form on this site, we collect what you enter: your name, email address, phone number, zip code, the situation and fuel you selected, and anything you write in the notes.

What your browser sends. Like any website, ours records standard technical information through our hosting provider: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visited, and the time you visited them. This sits in server logs and isn't used to build a profile of you.

We use Google Analytics to understand which parts of the site are useful—which pages get read, which links get followed, and roughly where visitors are. It tells us about traffic, not about you by name: we don't send it your name, email or phone number, and we don't use it for advertising.

Your enquiry goes to the dealer whose territory covers your zip code, so that dealer can answer it. That is the purpose of this site.

We also keep a copy so we can confirm the enquiry arrived, follow up if it didn't, and understand which parts of the site are useful.

We don't sell your information, we don't pass it to manufacturers for marketing, and we don't share it with dealers outside your area.

The dealer your enquiry is routed to. They receive what you submitted so they can respond to you.

Our service providers, and only so the site can work: Netlify, which hosts this site and processes form submissions, and WhyFire, which provides the product browser and routes enquiries to the right dealer.

Anyone we are legally required to share it with, if we receive a valid legal request.

We use your browser's session storage to remember which dealer you were matched to, so you aren't asked for your zip code again on every page. It lives in your browser for that tab only and is gone when you close it. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.

The product browser is supplied by WhyFire and loads from whyfire.com. When you use it, your interactions with that tool are handled under WhyFire's own privacy practices.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell a returning visitor from a new one. They carry a random identifier, not anything that names you. If you would rather not be counted, every major browser can block third-party cookies, and Google publishes an opt-out add-on for Analytics specifically.

We keep enquiries for as long as needed to serve them and to keep ordinary business records, and no longer than we have a reason to. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider and then discarded.

You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Get in touch and we'll take care of it.

If you'd rather not send anything through this site at all, every dealer's phone number and address is published on their page. Call them directly.

Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit. Enquiries are passed to the dealer over an authenticated connection, and the credentials that make that work are held on the server and never exposed to your browser.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security—but we don't collect more than we need, which is the part that matters most.

This site is meant for adults planning a home project. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, contact us and we'll remove it.

We link to dealer websites, manufacturer websites, and other outside pages. Once you follow one of those links you're on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, not this one.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the bottom. Continuing to use the site after that means the updated policy applies.
