American Hearth
Empire's hearth brand: long linear gas, big traditional gas fires built around a real log set, and wood fireboxes for a house that has a flue and means to use it.
About American Hearth
American Hearth at a Glance
American Hearth is the hearth brand of Empire Comfort Systems, an American manufacturer that has been building gas appliances since the 1930s. The same appliances are also badged White Mountain Hearth, sometimes under different model names—the Renegade is sold elsewhere as the Rushmore, and the Hamilton as the Blackburn. Same firebox; if a showroom and this site disagree on the name, they are describing one unit.
On the gas side there are three directions. Boulevard is the linear range, long and low, built into a framed wall. Renegade is the traditional answer: front and rear burners you can run independently, a deep ember bed and a big ceramic-glass front, in 36, 40 and 50-inch sizes and a 40-inch see-through. Maverick sits between them—a 60-inch opening with a linear shape, a traditional log set, and flame that wraps around the logs rather than sitting in a row. For a wood fireplace that is already in the house, the Kennedy is a direct-vent gas insert in 30, 34 and 40-inch sizes, with raised triple burners over an underlit ember bed and a blower built in.
For a real wood fire, the Hamilton comes in 36, 44 and 54-inch fireboxes, and the Monroe is a 60-inch firebox in two shapes: a traditional opening and a lower, wider linear one. Both can be lined with precast concrete or ordinary firebrick, so the inside of the fire is part of the design rather than a fixed finish.
